Rural Utah in particular is hurting right now because of the compounding impacts of available jobs, an underfunded healthcare system, and the opioid crisis. Rural healthcare providers have repeatedly drawn the link between opioid abuse and limited access to healthcare...
By passing Props 2 and 3, Utahns took a stand for helping their neighbors. By whittling them down to fit the conservative ideology of Sen. Vickers and other majority leaders, Utahns all across the state lost out.

In today's America, the president and those who work for him are above the law. The president can't be indicted for crimes he commits. A majority in the Congress believe holding him accountable for his crimes is too politically divisive for justice to be done.
Trump has already be cited for violating campaign finance laws with no effect. Mueller has showed conclusively he has obstructed justice and no consequences are likely. The Treasury Sec and head of the IRS have broken the law--likely with the WH advice--without consequences.
The Commerce Sec has lied to the Congress and nothing is done. The president's son and other chief advisors have done so as well, and nothing is done. Subpoenas are ignored without consequence. Rules are broken--from the Constitution's emoluments clause to the guidelines...

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced today that he's filing cloture (aka the first step towards a vote) on a resolution to decrease the amount of time it takes to get to a final vote on district court nominees — from 30 hours after cloture to 2 hours
This would not change the rules for circuit court or SCOTUS nominees. Sen. Lankford has been pushing this proposal for a long time, and the resolution McConnell is putting forward is the version that Lankford and Blunt intro'd earlier this year: rules.senate.gov/news/majority-…
Although Trump has broken records with circuit court judges confirmed, there's been grumbling on the right about the slower pace on district court nominees. Rs blame Ds, saying forcing cloture and the 30-hour debate period for most nominees is unreasonable
