Since I knew not enough about it: Fat Embolism Thread (thanks BJA). Fat embolism begins with lipid droplets entering systemic circulation through a fracture #jomed
The usual culprits are long or pelvic bones. The vast majority of significant cases occur in major trauma (up to 1/3 have fat embolism on testing!) and up to 3% of single long bone #
The droplets can agglutinate (CRP can cause this!) and mechanically obstruct vessels/pass through foramen ovale to cerebrum AS WELL as causing inflammatory mediators, of which free fatty acid breakdown products are one.

Severe early childhood trauma creates a child with equally intense coping mechanisms— these children are often see as “mature for their age” & “old souls”. While maybe true, it often negates the fact that their innocence was taken away at an early age & they are in survival mode.

Survival mode becomes ingrained into their very psyche. They are most sensitive to the energy around them bc they are (subconsciously) assessing everything, always, because their life experiences have taught them that a threat can arise at any moment.

One fact we can take away from 2017: Capital punishment is on the way out in America. The year is about to come to an end, so let's take a look back at some of the major events that occurred in the world of anti-death penalty work over the past 12 months. Thread:
An execution was scheduled for early January 2017 in Washington State. Governor Jay Inslee granted a reprieve and said he would do so in any similar situations in the future. The governor had announced a moratorium on executions in Washington back in 2014.
The new district attorney for Denver, Beth McCann, was sworn into office on January 10, 2017. District Attorney McCann pledged that her office would never seek the death penalty in any case.
