/ Just finished reading the entirety of the judge’s ruling GA’s vulnerable election system, and I am shaken. Much has been made allowing DREs one last time this fall, but those are mainly municipalities that use hand marked paper ballots not DREs

/ Most of the order is a Tom Clancy-worthy recounting of officials misleading GA citizens. I am shaken because history is repeating itself. In choosing to ignore the mountain of expert opinion that the new BMDs aren’t safe, SOS is once again listening to outliers.
/ There is little in Judge Totenberg’s “Past is Prologue” section of the order that does not apply to the new Dominion #BallotMarkingDevices
/ There’s a good chance that the state will fall flat on its face and the Dominion system will never actually be deployed, but you can’t count on that. Armed with the Judge’s narrative, there should be public outrage at HB316 and these new vulnerable voting machines.
/Otherwise, we will be right back here with a similar horror story about the right to vote in Georgia. Here’s a link to my paper with @philipbstark and Andrew Appel describing the Essential Security Flaw of BMDs dx.doi.org/10.2139/ssrn.3…
