When I see such beauty, I am in awe and I wonder how on earth could anyone believe this happened by chance and is not the product of divine design.

This was Tuesday's sunset in Maui .
The Road to Hana is definitely the best thing I've seen in Maui . On this video , I'm standing on lava rock. This was one of my favorite stops on the tour. Highly reccomended if you've never been here.

I am a conservative, and as a conservative the main problem in our movement is the people that have been given power to lead or to have strong voices all end up selling us out or capitulating to the left.
We tolerate cucks like Paul Ryan, Marco Rubio, & Ben Shapiro & then we wonder why the left runs roughshod on us. If people like this had their way, Hillary would be President.

I fear we are making the same mistake with Dan Crenshaw. He sounds good but dude caters to the left.
Having good ideas is not enough anymore. We need men and women with guts. People who understand the times we live in and will fight passionately and tenaciously. We need Pit-Bulls who will lock in on the values we hold dear and won't ever let go.

Why call yourself a conservative if you don't conserve anything? If you always concede ground to the left? If you don't have any traditions and values worth fighting for? If you just go with the flow and accept anything and everything?
My biggest pet peeve in politics is Republicans and Conservatives that think that we win by catering to the left, By becoming liberals light. Nope ! We win by digging our heels in and becoming unapologetically right wing. By fighting for and articulating our values , brazenly!
The 2 biggest political upsets in the world came from 2 men who never apologized in the face of the leftist mob. Donald Trump and Jair Bolsonaro. Both men spoke truths that were politically incorrect but true nonetheless, and never apologized for speaking them.

My skin is usually sun proof. But today I got humbled lol.
So I was in Lahaina today. Just found out that Lahaina means cruel sun ! Lawd have Mercy ! 🤦‍♂️

Would of been good to know this fun fact BEFORE I decided to be exposed to it all day long .

Looking at the horrors we're exposed to from every corner of the world, it's easy to question what constitutes humanity. There's no arguing we witness wildly inhuman & inhumane acts on at least a weekly basis, by people of every race.

Christians are called to love and spread the Gospel to every nation (race) on Earth. That doesn't translate into shipping them around like exotic decorations. But we can't hate them.

Where does that leave someone who believes both the Bible had his own eyes?

I've personally been struggling with this for some time. I cannot look at Chinese bbqing live dogs, or Africans skinning elephants alive, or Indian r*p* gangs, and see any evidence whatsoever of a soul. I see only a black crater where conscience & humanity should be.

Looking forward to being back in town for #NYBlockchainWeek! Going out on a limb to say the world doesn’t need another guide to the 100+ events going on, so thought I'd share some tips & food/drink rec's as a native NYer, who's recently moved & rather homesick. Here goes:
TL;DR - New York is for (food) lovers. Less networking, more eating.
Finding your way around Manhattan is easier than most other US cities. It's a simple grid of Streets and Avenues until you hit downtown, but you likely won't be walking around there much. Streets (y-axis) increase in number going north, Avenues (x-asis) increase going west.

Reading teaching evaluations at the semester's end is important but hard.

Even when 99% of my students' comments are positive, it's the one harsh comment that sticks with me.

This is not helpful. So I've developed a system to deal with this. Here it is:
I no longer read my teaching evaluations.

Instead, I give them to my assistant and ask that s/he sort the comments into three piles:

1) Positive feedback.

2) Constructive criticism.

3) Unconstructive criticism.
I then ask my assistant to make a document containing:

1) Verbatim quotes of the positive feedback.

2) A summary of major themes of the constructive criticism (i.e. no direct quotes, just things multiple students see as potential improvements).

3) No unconstructive criticism.

2) Remember this? I painted this scene because I thought that @FLOTUS looked like she was walking through a painting in her yellow dress. This seems like it happened a long time ago. 2018 was eventful!
3) My oil painting of a lighthouse is one of my favorite projects this year. It captures the emotions we've shared in 2018. Make sure your sound is up, the music sets the mood. When I see this again, I remember how I was feeling when I painted this...and how I still feel this way
