Le réservoir de Montsouris, built between 1868-1873 is the reservoir that provides 20% of Parisians with their daily water. Sometimes called The Temple of Water, our ancestors knew to make beautiful even the dull utility structures the majority of us never even knew existed.
The above ground installations are equally beautiful, what looks like three greek temples. The whole constructed by the engineer Eugène Belgrand (1810-1878).
The reservoir interiors is made up of 1800 concrete pillars.
