🚀 Introducing Chakra UI ⚡️

I’m very excited to share my latest project, Chakra UI. A React-based Component Library.

I’ve created over 40+ composable and accessible components to help you create React apps and website with speed.

This component library is heavily inspired by TailwindCSS, Styled System, Reach UI and Atomic Design Principles by Brad Frost.

Fun Fact: The name Chakra was inspired by Naruto 😆. I loved how fast he goes when he absorbs chakra from nature and enters “Sage” mode.

That’s also how I came up with my nickname “Sage”

Most of the time, I think UI design is a solved problem.

There are existing design solutions to most design problems and tell be good to a single place where one can find actually design files and code for common components like buttons, forms, tabs, etc.
More like an open source library of sketch and Figma files for common UI components, and a code repository that matches the open source designs, written in React, Vue and HTML/CSS with accessibility built in.
Maybe UI designers don’t need to start from scratch anytime they need to design. Maybe Frontend developers don’t need to start from scratch and convert designs over and over with lots of frustration in between.

In adoption decisions based on social referrals, what about graph structure? Classic modeling of such decisions study "influence response functions", adoption as a function of # of adopted friends, see e.g. this classic by @duncanjwatts/@peterdodds:

Very excited to share our latest on the organization of activity in dopamine axons in dorsal striatum. We think they are important for reward learning by implementing spatiotemporal credit credit assignment.

What we studied:
1) Scalar dopamine signals are not very useful.
2) There are lots of clues that vector-weighting RPEs can facilitate learning in complex environments.
3) So, local dopamine signals must reflect the functional specialization of underlying subregions...right??
What we did:
-> we used an imaging preparation that allows imaging DA axons chronically across multiple anatomical scales.

Notably, we could image the global activity of dopamine across 60-80% of dorsal striatum!

3/ Traditionally, commodity money has been asset-based, most notably gold. Gold is a true asset of the holder. If you own gold free and clear, it is your asset, and no one else's debt, no one else's liability.

The article takes the Feature visualization technique from distill.pub/2017/feature-v… and uses it to turn "anonymous" activation vectors into "semantic dictionaries": a data structure where the keys are meaningful icons. This opens the door for very interesting interfaces...
