If Virat Hindu culture is so great, why are Hindu chauvinists always looking out online and in real life for a chance to be offended and trot out their idiocy?
Case in point: a group of Keralite students had prepared beef dishes in Germany as part of a food and cultural festival, and upper-caste NRI north Indians were so offended, that they protested and pressured the Indian Consulate to shut that beef stall down. In a foreign country.
Where beef consumption is perfectly legal. How delusional and idiotic do people have to be? And the protestors were conveyed so in no uncertain terms by German police.
Another case in point: mayapolarbear is a very popular dog social media account, especially on Instagram. It's about a goofy and adorable Samoyed named Maya, based in Berlin, Germany, and her owner, Lingli Ye. She seems to have a lot of Indian followers too.
Lingli provides a lot of Maya's food routines, along with what she likes to eat. That includes beef, and leftovers of beef, like cow ears. And Indian Hindus got super offended, and were howling as to HOW CAN YOU FEED GOMATA TO YOUR DOG.
She was trolled so much, that she had to put out an Instagram story to "apologise" to her Indian followers, that she did not mean to offend anyone, and that her dog likes eating beef.
But the case which takes the cake is this: the British government had been documenting a lot of cases of caste discrimination in the Indian, and especially the Hindu-Jain disaporic communities in the UK, and wanted to enact a law outlawing caste discrimination.
And then, Hindu and Jain groups lobbied with the Conservative party government to stop that legislation, because they argued it was "discrimination" against the Hindu and Jain communities, and that the caste system was due to British colonialism.
