Not just put people out of work, but also ban something that has led to enormous economic gains, made us increasingly energy independent (a huge national security gain), and allowed America to severely cut our carbon emissions (since she's very serious about addressing AGW).
They insist we must tear apart our whole economy because climate change is such an urgent threat, but also want bans on nuclear power and fracking despite those being proven ways to reduce emissions.
It's almost as if they don't believe their own fear-mongering...

And instead view the threat of anthropogenic global warming as simply a pretext for them to push political and economic changes that they could never otherwise justify or get political support for.
