Last night, former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman filed a motion to dismiss the govt's lawsuit accusing her of violating the law re: filing a final financial report: assets.documentcloud.org/documents/6402… She cites not one, but two recorded comms with White House officials 
First, there's the Situation Room conversation where she was fired in December 2017, which she'd already revealed was recorded. That's where they discussed making her final day effective Jan. 20
There's also an informational footnote in this section: "Historically, The Situation Room at the White House is utilized during times of American crisis. For example, the Situation Room was utilized during operation Neptune Spear, a mission against Osama Bin Laden."
She also submitted to the court a recording of what she says is a call with White House lawyer Stefan Passantino in March 2018, when she says she told him that she couldn't fill out her final financial report because the copy she'd gotten had incorrect info
The thrust of her argument is that the govt can't show she knowingly/willfully violated the law — she claims they sent reminders to the wrong email account, ignored her requests to fix incorrect info on the form, and delayed returning docs to her that she needed to fill it out
