Another quick "guy talk" topic: a woman who is drunk *can't consent.* If she's drunk/high/impaired, it's RAPE - pure and simple. I can't believe this is so hard to understand, but I got sucked into a discussion this week where some monsters wanted to examine "both sides" 1/
There are NOT two sides to this issue. You also being drunk doesn't make it right. E.g. being drunk yourself isn't an affirmative defense. Making that argument is akin to "I got drunk and murdered that person, but I was drunk so that makes it okay." 2/
That men (well, man-children) even want to bring their own state into it just shows how fundamentally they misunderstand consent (willful misunderstanding I suspect). In any case, stop it. Be the man your momma raised you to be (not one she'd slap in the mouth). /FIN

With @Snowden book coming out, I'm hearing multiple respected people in the industry say "the domestic programs were wrong, I just don't agree with how he released the data." I get where these people are coming from, but let's examine why this is a hollow argument. 1/
It's worth noting that I don't endorse Snowden's actions, but I DO have a better understanding than most what his options really were. So let's talk about that a little.

First, it's easy to say "but whistleblower protections!" That is the WORST POSSIBLE argument to use here. 2/
Intelligence community contractors didn't have whistleblower protections in 2013 when Snowden leaked. But the US government recognized what a problem this was and fixed it, right? Um, no. No they didn't. There may be a Snowden 2.0 festering in the IC right now as a result. 3/

I'll publicly shave my head, glue pubes to my bald scalp, and give a recorded talk apologizing and publicly endorsing Crown Sterling's TimeAI if they demonstrate decrypting RSA encryption in the next 14 days. 1/

The demonstration must be administered by a third party of my choosing, who will generate RSA keys at 2019's industry standard lengths for sensitive data protection (2048). Data will be encrypted and Crown Sterling will have the public key (as would be the norm in the wild). 2/
Once provided with they public key and the encrypted data, they will have 24 hours to quasi-prime the heck out of it (or whatever they do) and return the decrypted data. I'm open to negotiation for longer than 24 hours, pending contact from Crown Sterling. 3/

I stayed silent about this for years (getting drugged and robbed is pretty damn embarrassing after all). But last year, coming into #hackerSummerCamp I started talking about this publicly to educate others.

I was beyond lucky in my experience. It was a best case, worst case. 2/
I was at a bar in a casino lobby and got hit by a pair of women working together. They just looked like tourists. One of them sat down and drew me into a conversation. The other one (who I hadn't seen yet), swooped in and drugged my drink while my attention was elsewhere. 3/

My rant on purohitas, their fees and dharma. In this day and age someone who sends his kids to a gurukula or mutt is taking an extreme risk. I would even dare say he or she is gambling the future of the kids who will grow up to face unstable seasonal income /1

1) WHY WOMEN KEEP SILENT

So, I was raped when I was about four. It never occurred to me to say anything until I was about eleven.
2) At four, I didn't know what the term rape meant; I knew what had been done and that it wasn't right but who would I tell?? I was ashamed.
3) I remember thinking I'd be mortified if my parents ever found out I'd been a "participant" in this lewd act. God forbid they found out.
