If this is true, this strikes me as a serious misstep.

I've been urging Pelosi to move ahead, but the hearings are the key, not the vote. They shouldn't rush this.
Look to the Senate Select Committee hearings in Watergate, and how much they moved the needle on public opinion and congressional opinion on removing Nixon:
With Clinton's impeachment, in sharp contrast, House Republicans believed that the Starr Report made the case against Clinton and rushed through a vote to impeach him that failed to do much of anything.
This is an incredibly important moment and it should be treated that way. Take the time and do it right.
POST-SCRIPT: I took the piece's statement about Judiciary "packaging" the reports to be a behind-the-scenes effort, but if they're going to sort through them in televised hearings, then that's something entirely different and my concerns are misplaced.
