A woman in SF was approached by a man wearing only hospital-issue bottoms, brandishing a knife & repeatedly yelling "who wants to get cut?" Police took the knife, but didn't arrest him, claiming this didn't constitute a "criminal threat."

Contact the media, contact lawyers, create a problem. A person rambling incoherently on the street and threatening random strangers with a weapon is not in a good place. @SFPD's handling of these cases is not humane, it's negligent.
Record *everything,* file complaints with everyone and their mother, pledge to vote out incumbents down the goddamn line, contact federal agencies if there's any feasible relevance, tell the press you are doing all of that.
Another woman was assaulted by a man who tried to tear off her dress in broad daylight. She says he told her "the cops aren’t going to do nothing."

A man was BITTEN by a homeless man. "Why are you even calling the police? They're not going to do anything" sfchronicle.com/bayarea/heathe…
Keeping crime stats where you need them to be, @SFPD?
I just want to feel safe when I use public transit and walk around the city. I'm not strong or fast enough to protect myself if someone decides to hurt me. It's terrifying to know that violent, impulsive men are learning that the police are broadly uninterested.
