Giuliani presided over the mass human caging of hundreds of thousands of Black & Latinx people pretrial, deprived of due process, blocked from evidence by prosecutors enabled by state law to withhold it all, & denied the presumption of innocence. All because of their poverty.

For decades in NY (until January 2020 thanks to long overdue reforms) prosecutors were entitled to withhold all critical info, including transcripts, witness statements, police reports, until day of trial. People of accused of crimes were blindfolded.
With mandatory minimums, which Giuliani supports, right to jury trials & hearings on police misconduct disappeared. Risk of going forward too high. 95% of convictions now come from pleas, & less than 5% cases in NYC have hearings. Forget cross examination.nytimes.com/2019/09/25/opi…
