Interesting list

An Indic "Canon" is more problematic given that the works are often encyclopedic and a single work may not appeal to any single reader in its entirety

E.g. You can recommend Mahabharata. But v few are going to read it from cover to cover
If I were to come up with a "reading list" on Indian civilization then that would probably include smaller texts that are a part of larger works

E.g. Bhagavad Gita (from Mahabharata
Sundara Kanda (from Ramayana)
I dont think it makes a lot of sense to tell a foreign reader -
Go read the Mahabharata..

He will feel lost. It's just way too big and diverse a text
Nevertheless I appreciate @Scholars_Stage 's attempt to create a list

Something Indian elites hardly ever engage in

In India, everyone has their favorite tradition and text. Seldom is an attempt made to create a reading list that speaks to Indian civilization in its entirety
@Scholars_Stage The talk of an "Indian civ" only emerges in political debates, in opposition to Abrahamic influences or influences of modernity from Western "Enlightenment"

But not sufficiently enough in a non-reactionary, non political context
Which is a bit of a shame, and something for the Indian conservative movement to introspect on
