2/3 way thru: some comments: much wartier story than I imagined/ technical breakthroughs mostly come from others, the drive from Simons/ not such a great place to work IMO/ many interviewees seem to have been settling scores/
Night Thoughts:
Renaissance made a zillion $$. Incredibly Clever.
And? No new knowledge passed on, no new devices to improve anyone’s life, no nothing for anybody. Fascinating book about them — but I find myself a bit let down by the private selfie purity of their effort.
