Don't be offended if someone stopped paying attention to you.

Paying attention is a conscious act.

Often, we can't even pay attention to our own thoughts.

Hence, why we get distracted easily.

Don't personalize this one.

It's a losing game in the low attention age
Here's an unfortunate truth in the social world.

-Most humans are not paying attention to you. They are just pretending like they are.

'If they aren't paying attention, then what are they doing?'

They are planning the next thing they are going to say...
And you don't want to take the high & mighty route on this one.

Ask yourself how often YOU actually pay attention.

Be honest.

Are you normally paying attention, or do you pay attention & sporadically get lost in your thoughts?
Many of you probably answered the latter.

You probably get lost in your thoughts when others are talking.

'Is this bad?'

Yes & no.
Let's start with the 'no' first.

When we stop paying attention to others, we make up some kind of excuse.

We say its because they were talking too much.

But when others stop paying attention to us, we get offended.

We personalize.
But when you stopped paying attention, did you do it for malicious reasons?

'No.'

Then why did you do it?

'Because I had trouble keeping control of my mind.'

Exactly.
You want to give humans the benefit of the doubt when they stop paying attention.

Sometimes, it was because you were boring.

But more often than not, the average human can't control their mind.

In their day to day lives, they are impulsive & hopping from act to act.
Especially with the high level of information out there, attention spans have plummeted.

As bad as attention spans were, it's about to get 10x worse.

Most humans can't even pay attention to their own problems.

So don't be alarmed that they can't stay focused on you
Now with that being said...

You need to take an ACTIVE measure in controlling your mind.

Just because you have a tough time paying attention doesn't mean you throw in the towel.

It just means you need to step up your hustle.
'And how do I step up my hustle?'

You meditate & have a genuine curiosity towards who you are speaking to.

'That's it??'

Yea, that's it.
Meditation allows you to become AWARE when you have lost track of your focus.

'How do I meditate?'

Just count your natural breaths.

Whenever you lose get lost in thought, make yourself aware, & gently come back to the breath.

Start with 2 minutes a day & work your way up.
Curiosity allows you to remain grounded.

Imagine a basketball fan met Michael Jordan.

Doubt they will be dozing off.

They would be glued into the moment because it's Michael Jordan.

They have a strong curiosity.

Have that level of curiosity with everyone that you speak too
Meditation & curiosity require work + practice.

Most ain't putting in that kind of work.

So don't be offended if they are clearly dozing off.

With their wandering eyes & half-assed questions.

You can't control others.

But you can control yourself.
Make sure you aren't the party that is caught slipping.

That's not a good look.

The more interconnected the world becomes, the more communication skills will rule all.

So get a leg up & learn the art of paying attention.

It is more valuable than ever in human history.
Meditate & be genuinely curious.

Do that & you will immediately be able to make others feel important.

Making others feel important = Charisma.

And doors open for the charismatic presence.

Remember that.
