'How come I procrastinate so much?'

Bc you keep envisioning the end product vs the work it's going to take to get there.

You're looking at the macro. You should try looking at the micro.

Break your workload down & take it step by step

Gradual improvement beats procrastination
Procrastination is a funny habit.

It doesn't matter which part of the world you go to.

It seems like everyone deals with it one way or another.
'Why do you think that is?'

Due to tension.
You procrastinate on tasks that you associate with 'work.'

You associate tasks with 'work' when you:

-Need to learn something new.
-Do busy work.
-Do something you hate.
-Work with someone that you're not fond of.

Etc.
'What's wrong with associating stuff with work??'

Because 'work' equals 'tension' to the subconscious mind.

And your sub mind hates tension.

Your subconscious mind is a lazy sack of shit who wants everything to stay the same and easy.
So when you signal 'work' to the subcosncious mind, it FEELS the tension & makes you lazy.

You start pushing the task off.

Give the average human a difficult path & an easy path....

And more often than not, they are choosing the easy path.
That's why you need to be smart.

You need to leverage your conscious mind to outwit the subconscious mind.

'Oh yea??'

Yea.
-Blocks are viewed as work.

-Fragments are viewed as doable.

Remember this.
The task that you are postponing is something that you are viewing as a block.

You are just viewing all the work needed to do & the end result.

Example: You have to write a 1000 word blog.
Your mind likes to accomplish tasks with the least path of resistance. Break the block up to fragments.

You are just viewing the bare minimum you need to do.

Example: You have to write 2 sentences for your blog.
'Wow that's smart!'

But wait, there is more...

When you begin a task with the fragmenting mindset, you typically end up doing more than you were planning.
So even if you said you were just going to write 2 sentences, you probably will end up writing 2 paragraphs.

And who knows... that paragraph can turn into something more.

Bottom line is: 2 sentences is better than no sentences.
Try this trick the next time you are procrastinating.

Just fragment the block & begin.

You'll be surprised by what you end up producing.
With all that being said tho, let me be real with you.

Procrastination typically holds something bigger.

-You procrastinate on tasks that you hate or like, but not love.
If you love playing basketball, then you're not going to be procrastinating.

You are going to be PULLED towards that goal rather than PUSHED towards it.

Loving a task magnetizes you to it.
We all have certain tasks we don't love, I get it.

Just part of the real world.

But if you procrastinate on BIG tasks that you should be loving, then you are following the wrong vision!
If you want to be an upcoming writer & procrastinate on every blog, tweet & email..... then it doesn't take a rocket scientist to say what's going to happen next.

'Uh... what will happen?'

You probably will quit.
So a few options:

A. Change your vision.
B. Find a way to make the task fun.
C. Find a new vision.

Up to you.
Evaluate where you stand.

Are you someone who procrastinates every now and then? All good. Fragment the blocks & get to work.

Are you someone who always procrastinates? Then no bueno. Do some soul searching!
Now go and find something you been procrastinating on.

And knock it out.

Make yourself proud. Then do it again... and again.

You'll be leveling up to new heights in no time.
