1- Cephalic phase

Your brain connects to your stomach through an important power line: the vagus nerve

A simple look/smell of the food near you triggers an electric signal to kickstart the release of:

Mucus
Stomach Acid
Pepsinogen (breaks down protein)

Digestion is primed
2- Gastric phase

Gastrin, a digestive hormone, releases from the stretch of your stomach as the feast enters

A rhythmic contraction-relaxation takes place, allowing your juices to mix with the food.

Protein digestion is now under way
3- Gastrointestinal phase

Chyme is the final broken down product and the strong acidic environment signals your stomach to switch gears

CCK + Secretin lower the acid levels, releasing your food into the small intestine

There, the pancreas helps you finish the digestive job
Here are ways for you to facilitate your digestive process:

- Avoid water as you eat to not dilute stomach acid
- Chew food thoroughly
- Supplementation with Betaine HCL or enzymes is a good idea
- limit PPI or other antacid use for severe symptoms

Any recovery for any states of physical health must be started from the BOTTOM UP.

Ensure you're having bowel movements DAILY. 2-3 times a day is OPTIMAL. Don't be AFRAID to observe your bowel movements, it's an excellent indication of your digestion quality/health altogether.
Make sure you're drinking sufficient water upon waking and before sleep. Obviously throughout the day as well. 2 liters is a rough goal for the average person. Many variables go into hydration though.
The gut microbiome is one THE MOST vital factors in both physical and mental health, so ACT like it.

Daily LIVE BIOTICS in food sources is REQUIRED for optimal survival. The majority of those probiotic shots, supplements, etc. are all scams. Stick to food sources.

Google whey protein and most likely you'll only get positive results about it.

But don't you ask yourself how something packed inside a plastic jar and with such a long expiration date can indeed be healthy?

Well, you should.
Protein powders are usually highly processed and filled with preservatives and artificial flavors (no wonder they have such a long shelf life).
