Wasn't particularly impressed by Swinson's speech. But hostile questions from journalists have not been met with any boos or heckling by party activists and the leader is answering them convincingly news.sky.com/story/watch-sk…
Quite disastrous response from Swinson on relations with Labour post-election. She has already ruled out a coalition. Now she seems to go further.
She is asked whether she would "in some way" help Corbyn to get into No.10. She replied: "I'm absolutely categorically ruling out Lib Dem votes putting Corbyn into No.10."
That suggests, although does not say explicitly, that even a confidence and supply arrangement would be off the cards.
Imagine Labour is the largest party after the election, but without a majority. It would be criminally negligent for Swinson to refuse an arrangement that would see the Lib Dems support Labour on key votes, ie on second referendum. But that is what she appears to be suggesting.
I don't really believe that's what she would do. But by emphasising this so much she is, at best, creating the same narrative of Lib Dem betrayal which dismantled the Lib Dems in 2010.
