While the country is dissary about this whole #Fourways - #Bree incident, thought I should share an experience my neighbour had...
So, this lady, 27 at the time, met a Zimbabwean man while they were both working at a construction site and instantly fell in love...

A THREAD...

A year or so later, they moved in together, had two beautiful baby girls... in all this time, the lady hadn't met a single relative of the man nor had he uttered a single word about them. She kept on insisting she should at least meet one of them, he repeatedly and aggressively..

...refused, when their kids turned 15 and 16 respectively, they too started wondering who their paternal relatives were and that's when the mom took the onus upon herself to go find out her husband's origins...
The journey led her to Masvingo, Zimbabwe.

She was welcomed with warm smiles and open hearts by the Watadza family... she got there and explained her story, how she's been with their son, for the longest of time and how they now have two beautiful children who would like to meet their family...

What was all smiles and laughter turned to confusion and fright... the man's mother burst into tears... not knowing what was happening, the wife then reluctantly asked what was going on... only for the man's sister to take her outside into their backyard...

Pointed at a gravestone, and told the lady that that's where her brother, Andrew lies, he commited suicide and has been dead for the past twenty years and there's no way he could be in another country...

...let alone have a family there. The lady immediately got paralyzed from the waist down, I'm assuming it was shock. They took her in and cared for her until she was in a condition to travel back to her home...

Only to get back, confined in a wheelchair, to an empty home, no trace of her husband and the children... it has been more than 6 years now with no sighting of either of them anywhere!!!
