1.3 Labor Secretary Alex Acosta, the man in charge of Epstein's "sweetheart deal" resigned last week.

Why? Over the "furor" of him making this plea deal with Epstein, supposedly.

When leadership problems arise in public schools, districts can remove or replace principals. When district school board members don't govern well, voters can replace them. Neither can happen here. This is the reality of #schoolchoice with charter schools. /3

Loading the bus for my annual three day paleontological field trip with the kids. Some rain forecasted. Wish me luck.

Back in time across #Texas ... almost 35 years doing this.

Heading out to the first stop, the Eocene on the Brazos River.
We survived the Eocene ... kids got lots of fossils. The bus is now heading back in time to the Cretaceous (120 million years ago). First a fossil oyster reef, then a pit with lots of echinoids. Dispite weather reports full of dread, we're in the sweet spot.
Collecting in the Eocene this morning at the famous Stone City bluff on the Brazos River. Lots of fossils and no mud.

#BayCounty was hit by a Cat 4 Hurricane just 4 weeks ago,yet managed to count votes & submit timely results.

Yet over 41 hours after polls closed #Broward elections office is still counting votes?

- Isn’t reporting hourly or regularly,but rather releasing thousands of additional votes,often in the overnight hours,that are chipping away at GOP leads

When Rick Scott became Governor in January of 2010, he began a campaign to privatize 30 South Florida prisons and hired Edwin Buss as the Secretary of the Florida Department of Corrections.
“It was one of the most aggressive private prison expansions in the history of the United states, maybe the most aggressive,” Edwin Buss said. While governor, Rick Scott has been through 5 Secretaries of the Florida Department of Corrections (FDOC).
Rick Scott also wanted to privatize the health care services of inmates. He hired Elizabeth Gondles to oversee it, but she had to resign over a conflict of interest: her husband was married to the head of the only organization that accredits prison medical services in the nation.
