A 16-yr-old boy died in Border Patrol custody. He had the flu

They didn't take him to the hospital
They didn't release him
They didn't even seem to check on him as he was dying on the floor of his cell, contrary to the govt's account

1/ On Halloween, my family saw NYPD converge on a group of black teenagers in Brooklyn. My wife and our 6-year-old daughter saw an unmarked NYPD car going against traffic *hit one of the boys.*

I asked the police about it.

They say it didn’t happen.
2/ My wife saw kids running from the wrong-way unmarked NYPD car, then saw a kid dart out and get hit.

Another witness told me it was “a horrible sound.”

The NYPD’S version: They investigating a violent phone robbery when a boy **“ran across the hood of a stationary car.”**
3/ It happened at 8:20pm Halloween night on Court St & Kane St. This corner.

There were lots of people around.

This child died next to a toilet, alone, in a Border Patrol facility.

There should have been high-level firings over this, but there were none. Not even a statement of remorse from the president, because he felt none.

We are a disgrace.

Four toddlers were so severely ill and neglected at a U.S. Border Patrol facility in McAllen, Texas, that lawyers forced the government to hospitalize them last week.
The children, all under age 3 with teenage mothers or guardians, were feverish, coughing, vomiting and had diarrhea, immigration attorneys told HuffPost on Friday. Some of the toddlers and infants were refusing to eat or drink.

16 year old Guatemalan died in Border Patrol custody after getting flu during a week detained, well past the 72 hour limit.

He’s the fifth child migrant to die since December.

Before that no kid died in custody for 10 years.

This is Carlos Gregorio Hernández Vásquez, the 16 year old Guatemalan boy who died of the flu in Border Patrol custody Monday.

In December, the Trump administration boasted a child hadn't died in custody for a decade.

Carlos is the fifth child to die in custody since then.
