He'll argue that his "rights were violated". The judges will receive other nocturnal visits with heavy briefcases. They'll rule to exclude crucial evidence. The case will nevertheless drag on as the one person who can terminate it hasn't got a visit yet. He's soon visited
In the past the prosecutor would enter a nolle prosequi under some incomprehensible section of the law suggesting the case ain't dead but will resurrect. Doubting Thomas is found sure. The case would be as dead as the unicorn. But there's a new order & dispensation in town...
The case may actually go to trial. Weakened... but sustainable. In the trial you'll know that the prosecutor was visited. You'll see such ineptitude that you'd wonder how he got his law degree. He'd forget to interrogate witnesses on crucial points & have no questions for others
He'd fail to cross examine rebuttal defense witnesses. The judge would refuse to exercise his right to question the witnesses. The media having received brown envelopes would either not report or fudge the reporting to confuse citizens (ever noticed the disjointed court reports?)
All that is drama. The prosecutor in some european languages is called "actor". Pity he's not Kenyan! The apparently silly prosecutor who came top of his class is just displaying willful stupidity. He's to put it in French fu*king his own case
Both sides will rest & wait for judgment. The judge will say the judgment will be on notice... I.e he'll summon parties & read judgment. You will wait. Then wait again. No judgment. You'll begin to ask people: How did the Sonko case go? I don't know wasn't he freed?
