Teen use of vaping products, as reported by @US_FDA was overwhelmingly because of "curiosity" rather than flavors as you keep trying to claim, which is data from the 2019 NYTS fda.gov/tobacco-produc… with most using Juul
2/8 This leads directly into point number two, from looking at FDA sales/inspection data, it is, again overwhelmingly not vape shops that are selling to teens, this data can be seen here yes-i-vape.com/post/fda-compl… out of all sales to underage in MI only 13 (2.22% were at vape shops)

Type of store product was sold in:

Vape shop: 13 (2.22%)

Gas station: 362 (62.09%)

Tobacco shop: 70 (12.00%)

Alcohol/liquor store: 35 (6.00%)

Convenience store: 60 (10.29%)

Grocery/drug store: 43 (7.37%)
4/8 All of this just shows again, a flavor ban is not only misguided, but, won't help with the issue of teens experimenting with vapor products. If they become harder to get, they will just go back to smoking cigarettes, that's why I started when I was 13, I was curious
5/8 flavors were not available in tobacco when I started smoking Marlboro Reds, and I bought them at local gas stations and party stores, much like the FDA data still shows, those who are the biggest offenders of underage sales of vaping products as well
6/8 All we (vape retailers) want is sensible regulations, increase fines that are imposed if people are caught selling underage. All a flavor ban will do is put my employees and myself out of business as well as all the other shops across the state when all we
7/8 are doing is trying to help adult smokers stop. We check ID. We refuse underage sales. We do not carry #juul. We are not #bigvape or #bigtobacco we are #smallbusiness and Judge Stevens was correct in saying that all a flavor ban will do is send adults back to smoking
8/8 which has proven to be the deadliest, and yet still readily available, consumer product of all time. We want SENSIBLE regulations, we are willing to sit down with you, talk with you and come up with those, but, a #flavorban is not it. #WeVapeWeVote #VapingSavesLives

The legislative efforts against #vaping are misdirected. Lawmakers seeking to reign in #JUUL are not aware of the non-big tobacco small biz that will be put out by the broad brush #flavorban legislation being promoted. We need regulations but the following needs mention.. /1
The small biz segment of the #vaping industry is largely comprised of ex-smokers who found an effective form of tobacco harm reduction and feel compelled to guide others to the same results. These are Mom & Pop retailers providing a beneficial service to their communities. /2
This segment controlled the entire American market for the better half of 8 years without any measurable amounts of youth access to warrant the "epidemic" proportions we are addressing. The teen issue wasn't largely perpetuated until #JUUL began marketing heavy in 2016. /3

New York State has a smoking rate of 14.1%. That’s 2.75M residents who currently use a product that is guaranteed to kill them. E-cigarettes present a harm reduction avenue to mitigate the risk of smoking. /2
So what?

E-cigarettes are safer than cigarettes. Those are your words. You added in “technically” but should have substituted “scientifically” as these aren’t egregious claims but medical research conclusions. /3

Follow up on moon sighting claims in Nigeria:
As usual I always try to follow up on questionable sighting claims. On returning back to Nigeria yesterday , I called Mal Jaafar member of National moon sighting committee present at the palace in Sokoto on the 29th Ramadan.
Jaafar said, Damaturu sighting claim was reported by the Secretary Yobe Emirates moon sighting Committee.Jaafar called him to get details and phone numbers of the sighters but the secretary said he has none, and said the reports were reported by district heads without details.
Jaafar gave me the only phone number available for a sighting claim by Suleiman Lawal from Katsina , I called the number and he said his name is Umar Abdullahi, he went out to search for the crescent with Suleiman and 1 other person but it was only sighted by Suleiman Lawal

Those accusing our organisations of sending female reporters to gain trp, you should know this. When we give them the slightest hint that things are not okay, first thing they tell us is "waha se niklo fataafat (leave from there immediately).
Saw a tweet that said only national channel reporters were attacked. Not Malayalam channels (later they were also targetted), because the latter have common sense. Yes, they do. Because they know you well? For those outside, Kerala is/was god's own country full of literates. Hmm.
Most reporters covering south for national channels are women. Same with @thenewsminute . All 6 reporters covering 5 south Indian states for @CNNnews18 are women. When additional reporters are required during a major news event, reporters from the nearest bureau are sent.
