These newly released docs are explosive. A few observations:
1) These emails were not turned over to Congress, even though they are responsive to Congressional subpoenas. If they were procured by FOIA, they should also have been turned over to Congress. That’s obstruction-y.

2. These emails suggest that the aid was actually flowing after Zelenskyy’s election & was only put on hold around the time of the July call. That dramatically undercuts the “corruption” defense. If Trump was really targeting corruption, why did he let the aid go out to start?
3. The amount of redactions here is fishy. I can understand some redactions to disguise contacts, but the emails taken together make it seem like there are some critical missing pieces hiding out in the redactions.
But, even without those pieces, this is bad for the White House—and it’s no small wonder that they held these documents from Congress and then chose to dump heavily redacted versions at midnight on the Friday before Christmas...
One more thing: these docs also paint the cat-and-mouse game btw the House & Senate in a new light. It’s not just a negotiation of process. It’s also Pelosi stalling for more substantive information that will bolster the case before Senate Rs can summarily dismiss it.
