Weight loss happens in your kitchen, not in the gym. Gym is where you build muscle and tone your body. Yes, it's easier to lose weight if you also work out and have more muscle mass. But you simply can't out-exercise a bad diet. Thread
let's give an example: Coca-cola. 500ml (16oz) bottle contains roughly 200 calories, all from high-fructose corn syrup. HFCS spikes your blood glucose so high, that you body got no other option but to secrete a ton of insulin and convert all of that directly into fat.
And soda drinks (liquid sugar) are only a part of the problem. Nowadays there's sugar literally everywhere. People eating high GI foods and then having sugar crashes after, needing something to get their glucose up again. It's a never ending cycle - unless you decide to stop it.
I know how it feels being caught-up in that vicious cycle, being dependent, even addicted to sugar. People will blame you for your lack of willpower, but let me tell you: IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT! Truth is sugar is addictive and it's easy to eat a bunch of empty calories in no time.
That's why the first and absolutely most important thing for anyone trying to lose weight is to remove foods and drinks that spike your hunger and insulin most! Meaning sugar (soda, fruit juices, candy) and refined carbohydrates (bread, pasta, cereal, potato, rice).
You should focus on eating protein rich low GI whole foods that will keep you satiated for long and won't mess up with your hunger signaling. That means: Meat of any kind, fish, eggs, full fat dairy, vegetables, nuts and berries.
Eating a protein rich nutrient dense LCHF/Keto diet combined with Intermittent Fasting is the simple most effective, healthy and sustainable weight loss strategy out there. If you add weight/body training and good sleep on top of that, that's the true recipe for vibrant health.
