Yes, the Clinton impeachment hearings were strictly partisan. Only Reps voted for the articles of impeachment in the HJC.

Yes, there were bipartisan votes against impeachment, with 5 to 81 Reps joining Dems in voting no on the articles in the full House.
There wasn't an effort to delay transmission of the articles to the Senate, but I suspect that was probably because Republican Speaker of the House New Gingrich thought that Republican Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott was on the same page as him.

Worth repeating.

The Senate impeachment trials of both Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton featured new testimony that the House had not relied upon when it passed their Articles of Impeachment.

You can argue things should be different now, but that's actually how it worked before.
In the Senate impeachment trial for Andrew Johnson, subpoenas were issued for two dozen witnesses and the trial featured new testimony from them (most notably, General William Tecumseh Sherman).
In the Senate impeachment trial for Bill Clinton, video depositions were taken from three key witnesses -- Monica Lewinsky, Vernon Jordan and Sidney Blumenthal -- and shown in the Senate during the trial.

My family name - Eltahawy - can be traced back 12 generations. It’s somewhat of a family badge of honour to recite the names in between our generation all the way back. The names are all men’s. I want to find out the 12 generations of women’s names that connect us.
I want to know who that matriarch was 12 generations ago. Who was my ancestor who first bore this family line? Who are my foremothers? I want to know and y honour those women.
Eltahawy is my dad’s surname. My mum’s surname is Khalaf. I want to trace that matrilineal line too and follow its matriarchal roots. Again, I’m starting with a man’s name to get to the mothers. I know.

The biggest take away from this scuffle between Nigeria and South Africa will probably be how serious and dangerous fake news is.
Seeing a lot of thought leaders talking about killing and butchering of Nigerians in SA has really proven this point. Not a single Nigerian has been killed in these xenophobic attacks. Not one.
Almost all the videos people refer to have been debunked as old, not involving anyone from another country or not being in SA at all.

I saw #Us for a second time and I saw lots of things that I didn’t notice the first time. here’s a thread of a bunch of them. Obviously spoilers abound!!!!
early on, Gabe tells Zora that she should run in the sand under suboptimal conditions to get better at running. When she meets Umbrae, who is trained to run underground, Umbrae is faster and stronger. But Umbrae has never seen a car/windshield wipers so that’s how she gets got.
tons of foreshadowing in this movie, much of which has been discussed, but one I just caught this time was the living spider emerging from underneath the fake spider.
