Another federal court has ruled that it was not outrageous misconduct for the FBI to operate one of the dark web's largest child-porn sites for two weeks. (The FBI did it to plant malware on users' computers.)

The government, it says, has gotten away with much more.

Judge Sullivan has some questions about Mike Flynn's request to withdraw his guilty plea, including whether Flynn should now be questioned, "under oath, subject to cross-examination" about why the court should allow him to do that.
Sullivan cites a D.C. Cir. case involving a man who tried to withdraw his plea before sentencing because he said he was pressured into making it. The district judge had a hearing, had the guy testify, and ruled there wasn't a basis for withdrawal. Circuit court affirmed.
The D.C. Cir. held that the most important question in whether a defendant can withdraw his plea is whether it was properly entered in the first place. Could be challenging for Flynn, who entered his guilty plea not once but twice.

Yowsa this decision from the 7th Cir., just hammering the Board of Immigration Appeals. Its "members should count themselves lucky that [plaintiff] has not asked us to hold them in contempt, with all the consequences that possibly entails."

You rarely see the U.S. government lose a case this badly. Or this quickly - the panel issued its decision eight days after oral arguments.

DOJ told the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court in December that it now thinks "there was insufficient predication to establish probable cause" to substantiate two of its four applications to wiretap ex-Trump aide Carter Page.
Judge Boasberg says in a newly-declassified order that DOJ has "concluded, in view of the material misstatements and omissions, that the Court's authorizations in [two Page FISAs] were not valid." DOJ didn't take a position on whether the other two were lawful.
The FISC ordered the government to produce a bunch of additional information, including how it will wall off whatever info it gained from the Page wiretaps, and to explain what "related investigations" that might be going on about those FISA applications.

(1) The head of the #FBI CT Unit in DC, AG Barr's office & the Special Agent In Charge (SAIC) of my local FBI field office will soon be receiving notification of a lawsuit, with which I will haul the SAIC (personally) into Federal Court, for allowing #JTTF personnel ....
(2) to target me like a criminal cartel.

Many #JTTF personnel comprised of local, state & tribal Law Enforcement (LE) agencies have a long track record of police brutality, corruption & civil/human rights violations.

#FBI is not choosing the "cream-of-the-crop" from LE ....
(3) indeed, they seek out the criminal element, which has infiltrated once-honest LE agencies.

The SAIC of each field office is ultimately in charge of #JTTF operations.

#JTTF is comprised of #FBI, local, state and tribal LE "officers" who assume they can act like thugs ....

Im not defending porn (my personal opinion is the idea of porn is fine, however I recognise the industry has some issues- like any industry). But I am concerned with how we use porn as a lazy scapegoat, especially in the media.The last time we had a national conversation on porn,
