Hey #TeamPete! I went to IA and I'd like to share my thoughts w/ you. First, you should know I've NEVER volunteered for a campaign before. I've never texted complete strangers, called complete strangers, and knocking on complete strangers' doors is possibly my worst nightmare 1/
...until now. I'm so inspired by @PeteButtigieg and #TeamPete that I went to #IA on the spur of the moment with a near stranger I'd only just met! @melissagrizzle! And she's awesome! Turns out my husband and her brother were colleague friends in KC! 😂 2/

.@Mike_J_Beaudet is the organizer in Southeast IA & did a wonderful job training us how to knock doors! He did all he could to help these #IntrovertsForPete. The rest came from channeling an uncomfortable #ROTR for us...BOLDNESS. So off we went...5/
and guess what... people were FRIENDLY and THANKFUL. They stood holding the door open and talked for 15 min letting all the cold air in, they invited us in, they chatted about the Hawkeyes (not the Chiefs) We had some great conversations with kind, honest, and grateful Iowans! 6/
We knocked a lot of doors & nearly all that we spoke to were still deciding & LOVE PETE. It was lovely to listen to what's important to them, how their grandson is in the military, how they're longing for decency in the country again, and talk about why I'm #TeamPete. 7/
If you get a chance, GO. You won't regret it. You will feel energized & fulfilled and will know that you might have made a difference to #WinTheEra in this historic election. You just might find a new #PeteBestie and you might find some boldness that you didn't know you had. /end
