Dear friends, I know that many will have shared their experience of this thing however I wanted to say a few words about my experience that perhaps you can relate to. Everyone is different but this is my experience. 1. #FBPE #GetHealthy
Firstly do not do not underestimate this thing. It is unlike anything I have experienced. It is a cunning opponent and a bastard. About half way it seems I was over it & was more active. It was a mistake & that night I felt it. 2.
Rugby players being the tough old boots they are will often get up when injured, especially the hardy Scots. However there will be times where team mates will say "stay down". It is the same with this. Stay down until it is 100% gone. 3/
I can say that, for me, paracetamol was a great help in dealing with actual and perceived temperature fluctuations, which was a concern for me. Passing out when living alone really not a good idea. I've passed out once before as a kid, I don't remember directing the fall.... 4/
I found that getting into a routine helped. I know this from previous experiences of recovering from accidents, it also helps deal with boredom, and mental fatigue. 5/
I can say also that there are times when it was necessary to isolate not just physically but also virtually, friends yes but other stuff no. It is important that psychologically there are no influences that light cause physiological stress reactions. 6/
I was very careful with media inputs. Today I am posting here but not surfing. There is some crazy shit out there at the best of times. This is all about creating a space for your recovery. 7/
I'm now the other side of it but taking no chances. I am sticking to the recovery routine. I know what it can do just when you think it's gone. 8/
I'm sure there's loads of advice out there but this is how I got through the worst of it. And without stating the obvious sleep is really important, nights, mornings, afternoons. I know not everyone can but if you can do.... 9/
Otherwise I sincerely wish you all the best and wish you a full recovery. Keep an eye out for people, calls now and then. Check in on people, a message a call. People need to know someone's looking out for them. Take care of you. Tom. 🙏❤️✌🏼
One other thing specifically for those living alone but also as a general suggestion, organize regular check in calls and back up numbers.
Thank you so much for your get well messages. Very much appreciated. Thank you 🙏🙏🙏
