@WhoWouldWin13 Taarna has similar physicality to her opponent, and like her has incredible sword skills to boot. However, she has one major serious advantage over Red Sonja; air superiority!

She rides a huge pterosaur-like animal, one big enough to fly with her on its back. This is something

@WhoWouldWin13 that I believe most pterosaurs could not do, having to be well designed to be as lightweight as possible so that they can take to the air. Two that might have pulled this off are Orinthocheirus and Quetzalcoatlus, both of which had wingspans of about 40 feet (the latter at least

@WhoWouldWin13 500 pounds).

This one, however, seems heavier, with less of a wingspan, and yet it can not only fly, but have Taarna riding on its back. This is probably indicative of being made out of stronger biological materials than normal, or perhaps some extra biological apparatus that

@WhoWouldWin13 enables it to fly (perhaps it has organs loaded with hydrogen in its body). Either way...being able to fly would be an amazing, amazing advantage, especially in the ancient world where the concept didn't exist. The moment Taarna draws her sword and has her mount lunge downwards,

@WhoWouldWin13 Sonya is going to be in for serious trouble. Its possible, however, that she could end up killing the beast, and thus engaging Taarna in close quarter combat.

And if that...happens...

@WhoWouldWin13 ...That would be a fight almost impossible to predict. One thing that works in Taarna's favor is that Red Sonja, like most comic book characters, tends to talk often during battle, sometimes from strike to strike. Even Thing from fantastic 4 admitted he was tired of the behavior

@WhoWouldWin13 from supervillains when he was battling the Super Skrull (And yet Thing, like many heroes, do just that!).

Taarna, on the other hand, will be soley focused on combat, on the use of her sword and how to overcome her enemy. This will potentially give her an edge, for all her

@WhoWouldWin13 focus will be about killing her nemesis, not trying to now and again come up with insults and quips.

This, combined with air superiority, leads me to the conclusion that...
