@acog @MarchofDimes @ACNMmidwives The expert panel acknowledged #BlackMaternalHealthWeek, urging Congress to mitigate the impacts of #COVID19 on communities of color, improve data collection, extend #Medicaid coverage to 12 months postpartum, and include pregnant women in #COVID19 research. 2/
Sens. & Reps. should share evidence-based #COVID19 information w/constituents & encourage pregnant women to continue prenatal care & maintain strong communication w/their obstetric care team. Hospitals & licensed, accredited birth centers remain safe places to give birth. 3/
To protect pregnant women and the frontline obstetric teams that care for them, Congress must address shortages of #PPE and diagnostic testing and prioritize access for labor and delivery units. 5/
Congress should provide direct financial support for physicians and their practices to ensure they can remain open and continue to serve patients during the #COVID19 pandemic and beyond. 6/
