CMS just approved #Wisconsin’s request to extend and amend its Section 1115 #Medicaid demonstration waiver. Wisc. is unique in that it covers childless adults up to the federal poverty level (at the state’s regular matching rate). medicaid.gov/Medicaid-CHIP-…
CMS approved 3 new conditions of Medicaid eligibility for childless adults in #WI today: (1) a work & reporting requirement for those ages 19-49; (2) $8 monthly premiums for those from 50-100% FPL; & (3) fully completing a health risk assessment at application & annual renewal.
The penalty for failing to meet the new work & reporting requirements for any 48 months is coverage loss, with a 6-month lockout period.
The column--WHICH TRUMP DID NOT WRITE--included many lies.
Trump has done everything possible--with the help of @SpeakerRyan and @senatemajldr McConnell--to eviscerate #ACA and steal affordable #healthcare from millions of Americans, including sick children.
Trump ran on overturning #Obamacare--which millions of his supporters did not realize was #ACA that allowed them to get affordable #healthcare through their insurance provider and protected them and their kids who had #PreExistingConditions.
Trump tried to repeal #ACA but failed.
So he stopped making payments to statewide subsidy programs, cutting off #healthcare to millions.
He also cut #CHIP, created by #HillaryClinton, which provided millions of kids with health insurance.
The average unemployment rate in Ohio's eight largest cities is about 12%. Seven of them have unemployment rates higher than almost all 26 counties where work requirements for food stamps are waived. Read more in my latest paper communitysolutions.com/research/recei…
.@VP Pence has also promised the Trump Admin & the GOP will try to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Remember: that would lead to millions losing their health coverage & would ultimately drive up costs for everyone who is able to hang on to their insurance. goo.gl/HFxLh8
I live in rural PA, where progressives can be pretty moderate. Last spring, a member of our local progressive group's Facebook page commented, "What's the big deal? If they're able bodied, shouldn't they work?" The comment got "likes," so I asked to speak at the next meeting. 2/
I explained to the group that the goal of #workrequirements was not to get people to work, but to kick ppl off #Medicaid. I stressed that the bureaucracy surrounding work requirements targets those who work. After the meeting, so many said, "I hadn't thought of it that way." 3/
In June of 2018, the Trump Administration said it would not defend the #ACA and actually AGREED in part with the plaintiffs, arguing that protections for people with #PreExistingConditions should be overturned.
So Mr. Trump is visiting the beautiful Dakotas and the ego fluffing rallying continues without pause. Just like yesterday, Trump will continue his rants and attacks on the media and spread lies about Democrats./1 #TrumpEgoRallies#CultureOfCorruption#Cult45
But here's what know he won't do or say: address the real issues facing hard-working North and South Dakota families. He will also fail to talk about the continued #Republican war on health care coverage for 130 million Americans with pre-existing conditions./2 #GOPCorruption
.@CookCtyHealth is the region’s medical safety net, known for treating everyone whether they can pay or not. But how much free health care can it provide? The estimated tab this year: about half a billion dollars. Here’s why. Read/listen @WBEZ (1/16) >> tinyurl.com/ydfzefjd
First, about that growing amount of free care. We’re starting to see the ripple effect of a 2012 Illinois law. It aimed to settle how much free care non-profit hospitals in the state must provide to keep what can be very lucrative property tax breaks. (3/16) @KHNews@hamiltonproj

This November, millions of Americans’ access to health care is on the line. Each day from #100DaysOut to midterm elections, we’ll share the story of a Little Lobbyist who needs YOU to be a #HealthCareVoter for them. THREAD 0/100
The #healthcare industry employs millions of Americans.
In the only vision Bernie Sanders has ever presented, that somehow disappears and is replaced by something completely different....by magic. He has never had a plan for it or "breaking up the banks." nydailynews.com/opinion/transc…
The most workable--and quick--plan we could get (if people vote in November and the Democrats regain the House)--is the #MedicareExtraForAll plan.
