So David Davis is promoting an article by an anonymous former Google Software Engineer called "Sue Denim" [Pseu do nym]. Is he not concerned about promoting anonymous research, or does he know who wrote it.... #Covid19
Why would a former software engineer from a large company like Google write an article for "Lockdown Sceptics" - a dodgy looking blog - when if she has that pedigree she claims she could write it for a major news outlet lockdownsceptics.org/code-review-of…
The end of the article is just bizarre, a pitch for insurance companies and managerialism, followed by a recommendation that all epidemiology be defunded. Whoever wrote this, or indeed, edited it, clearly has an agenda - and it's creepy

[Thread] 1/ I analysed about 31,000 tweets from around 16000 unique Twitter accounts using the "plandemic" hashtag. The sample was mostly taken between 7th and 9th May. The results are fascinating, although perhaps in some cases unsurprising. #disinformation #Covid_19 Image
2/ The most salient and cohesive community tweeting on the hashtag are pro-Trump or conspiracy identifying accounts. If you examine their bios, MAGA, Trump, WWG1WGA, KAG, Qanon are the most common terms. Around 33% of all accounts with a biography contained one of these terms ImageImage
3/ This has been true for those spreading 5g and Corona conspiracies too. The below graph shows some of the main Twitter accounts using the hashtag either being retweeted or replied to. (Note, this is mostly pro-conspiracy accounts, but debunkers too- such as @tarahaelle ) Image

The British tabloids are shifting #Covid19 blame to 'the science'. Prof Neil Ferguson stepped down, like politicians used to after a scandal. Tabloids are now smearing him, like they used to do with politicians after a scandal. This is all part of the post truth populist mantra
The British gutter press are already using terms like "Professor Lockdown" to denigrate Ferguson. MPs and others are also citing an anonymous 'critique' of Ferguson's work. The critique is a distraction to refocus attention not on 30000 deaths, but on 'the science'/anti-expert
Obviously science is a process of contestation, theorising, hypothesis testing, debate - so it should, and is, subject to scrutiny - but this is actually not what's going on. Economy obsessed MPs are just using something that suits their narrative to deflect blame
