This is a letter issued by the #FarooqAbdullah government in the year 1997, to the revenue department to identify a land for a #Muslim colony in Sidhara (Jammu), which was a #Hindu majority.
This was under a design to islamise the entire state of J&K.

The ever increasing settlement of #Muslim minority in the #Jammu division was being noticed by all. Well, it is a free country without any restrictions on movement and it did not invite any objection from the #Hindu majority. Gradually, suspicions arose.

Why was encroachment of forest land in #Bhatindi and surrounding areas remaining unnoticed by the state administration and why through a systematic pattern, the forest land was allowed to be occupied by the #Muslim minority only?

Why was the nomadic tribe of #Bakerwals allowed to encroach and occupy large areas of government land in main #Jammu city?

Why was land and property in #Jammu division being purchased at very high rates by #Muslim minority?

We had started realizing that these acts were solely aimed at changing the demographic character of #Jammu division. We believed that with the covert support of state administration, unknown vested interests were behind the machinations of changing the demographic state.

But we never knew that all this was being openly supported & financed by state govt. Ironically civil society, state admin & all political parties in #Kashmir including so called mainstream ones, were up in arms against setting up colonies for #Hindu migrants in the valley. (6/6)
