2/ My Nana used to say honesty is the best policy. I am getting bombarded with DM's and emails so here it is and I can back it all up.
I was put out of #ProjectLincoln by tweet. I woke up and saw it when all of you did. I then had no choice but to say "I agreed" to save face.

3/ I reached out as a senior advisor to alert Director @reedgalen by text to alert him on 4/1 that I had used the word "retarded ass" about POTUS and was catching a lot of heat and that I had already apologized. Twice. He was not aware and thanked me.
4/ The next morning--I woke up after 10AM as I had taken cold meds--I was sick and groggy. I saw a flutter of DM's from @jwgop and a text from Reed saying I had to apologize by 9AM. By the time I got the info--they had already made the decision to disassociate with me.
5/ I tried to connect with #RickWilson and others in the Lincoln Project. I sent a few emails said I was happy to formally apologize again, but it was too late. I was not happy and outreached to my co-advisor @TaraSetmayer by text. We went back-n-forth. She can speak for herself.
6/ John Weaver and I went back and forth on DM, email and exchanged voice mails. He expressed that what I did was offensive to many, that I "doubled down"--when in reality I was defending myself from nasty vile, racist tweets coming in from #Magats and Trump trolls.
7/ Bottom line no-one defended me. Helped me. Spoke with me. Or gave me a chance to apologize, set up a fund in partnership with disabled persons or something to show contrition. I was attacked by #TheDailyCaller #TheBlaze #DonJr and right wing bots for weeks. It was hell!
8/ Here is the point--I do not want #RickWilson cancelled, attacked or run out of town if he is associated with the #Confederate flag or coolers. That is his personal right. Rick and I have played phone & email tag all day. My goal was to help him understand why this matters.
9/ As to the #LincolnProject it clearly has one standard for me as a black woman, and one for Rick as a white man. I was thrown out without so much as a conversation. Several in the LP have privately texted, emailed and DMd me that they were appalled at how I was handled. #MeToo
10/I am a big girl. But if we are going to fix what is broken in #America on race & gender, particularly for us ex-republicans who are now "Never Trumpers" we can't act like #DonaldTrump and today's very broken #Republicans

11/ Lastly, I have NO hard feelings at all toward these guys. I have given more money to support their ads. I support their mission. I follow them all, as they do me. But it's important that I put this out there--so we can just be honest about what happened. #LincolnProject
