What true successful managers value is time. We can never get back TIME.

Where are your minutes going? YOu can't trust your head when it comes to time.
Write down where is your time going.

If you had 2 more hours a day, how would you want to use it? <--GOAL
We get about 63.5 interruptions a day.
It takes ~20 minutes to get back to your task at hand.

TURN OFF ALL NOTIFICATIONS.

Here's how.

Also, find out how much time you use on your phone, and know where all your minutes are going.
--These could signal interruptions
Iphone allows for downtime, and also allows you to create App limits.

Tool #2. Deal with your inbox
33% of 40 hr work/wk is spent on emails!

How to control your email without it controlling you.
#1 No more email notification
#2 Unsubscribe. consider @Unrollme
#3 Think 2x before forward (if you send less email, you receive less email)
Make use of folders.

Lastly, delete. Every yes you say, is a no to your time.

3-21-0
Check your email 3x a day. Spend 21 minutes. Aim for inbox zero.

Tool #3.
Have an MIT (Most important task) AND calendar it.
41% of to-do list items are never completed (The Busy person's Guide to the Done List)
1. Pick a night of the week to calendar, have an MIT for every day. Calendar personal time, as well.
2. Schedule important things early. We're the most productive 1st 2hrs of waking up
3. Have theme days. Plan out what ideal week looks like. Time block.
4. Treat as if set in stone. "I'm sorry I have a meeting then." Including time with your family or self.
Put a timestamp to "to-do-list" so it's calendaring.
Consider @OmniFocus

When I start my day, I look at my calendar, and focus on my MIT (Most Important Task).

Calendar allows for cognitive off-loading.
Tool #6 Outsource
1. Are you the only one that can do it? Do it.
2. Are you enjoying these tasks? Do it.
3. Everything else? Outsource it.

Tool #5 Have a morning routine.
Take home points.

Have an MIT.

You can do it!
