It is very distressing to get 1st hand data on #Pune's completely overburdened medical infrastructure.
Since the day we started our #COVID19 helpline, team has been getting calls from an avg. of 30 relatives a day who are unable to find hospital beds for infected patients.(1/6)
I have personally spoken to Sr. Doctors, management and even owners of private hospitals across #Pune who themselves are scared for themselves & loved ones since there are absolutely no beds available for in-case the need ever arises. (2/6)
It is a grim reminder of the failure of State Govt. and administration to be prepared for this much predicted increase in #COVID19 patients across #Pune. It is painful to know that even COVID Warriors & Hospital Staff don't have access to beds & decent medical treatment (3/6)
The State Govt. has bought some time with an enforced 10 day lockdown, I earnestly request the CM @OfficeofUT ji to take charge, and hopefully set up a much needed jumbo #COVID Treatment Facility within the next fortnight. (4/6)
It is not about politics, but my city, my #Pune is days away from collapsing. The State Govt has failed to set up a new large hospital in the past 100 days.
I urge @CMOMaharashtra to seek help from Central Govt. if needed and provide Pune the medical infrastructure it needs (5/6)
Hon. Opp Leader Shri. @Dev_Fadnavis ji a global city like Pune urgently needs intervention from all levels of Govt.
I request you to communicate to Hon. PM @narendramodi ji to help State Govt with much needed support for setting up large scale COVID treatment facilities. (6/6)

The graph of building a city’s medical infrastructure should always be higher than the progressive cases of #COVID19 infection. #LockDown is not a remedy, it is supposed to be an intervention to give administration time to better equip & strengthen medical infrastructure (1/9)

Pune’s COVID Warriors including our very own Mayor have done a commendable job in helping curtail the spread of virus. I truly believe that 1000 cases/day for city the size of #Pune is alarming only because of the lack of hospital beds & infrastructure for early treatments (3/9)

In the past 2 months I have raised several issues, and written multiple letters to Hon. @CMOMaharashtra ji on various concerns including Repatriation of Citizens from UAE & other Gulf Countries, the lack of co-ordination between the state & city administration, and more.. (1/n)
Other than acknowledgement of receipt, I have not received a single reply to any of my queries that I have officially asked the Hon @CMOMaharashtra ji. If I as an elected representative face such a dead-end, I can only imagine the plight of the common citizens of our state (2/n)
I can understand not getting affirmative answers to my requests, or the solutions to citizen issues not being what I had hoped for.. but having ZERO communication from the leader of our State especially during a Pandemic is a scary situation to be in. ( 3/n)

About a month ago a leading industrialist had called the National #lockdown a draconian measure. He had pitched for ‘Herd Immunity’ and implied sacrificing lives of our elders and the vulnerable for the so called (his version) of the greater good. (1/5)
