Hello! I've been doing a bit of British Sign Language #BSL / Sign Supported English #SSE tutoring. I've been doing one to ones but would anyone be interested in a fun small group, total beginners zoom class? I am #hardofhearing and use SSE alongside my hearing aids🦻🏼
(2/3) 🦻🏼
I am not fluent in #britishsignlanguage but I took my first (level 1) exam as a teen in 2002 when I began to first experience hearing loss, did more in 2006, then 2016, & most recently this lockdown. So have been steadily building my use of #bsl most of my adult life!
(3/3) 🦻🏼
There are lots of reasons to learn #signlanguage even if you don't know anyone with #hearingloss. Sign with babies, with SEN folk, for your CV, to make your business more accessible & because it is genuinely fun! If you might be interested @ me and RTs are appreciated ❤️

Wow. Reacting to this tweet which did *not* name them, @NatSpaFactory have now blocked me. Since I have also had to get Trading Standards involved I guess there's zero reason to try and resolve this quietly now. Buckle in, folks, this is some shady stuff.
I bought a massage oil from them on Oct 18th. It was £16 which is a big deal for me right now but I'm pregnant, my skin is a bit sensitive at the moment, and I’m understandably a bit cautious about cheap products/ artificial scents. It arrived & I immediately opened it.
It smells *lovely* I look on the back of the bottle to remind myself what scents are in the blend and, uh oh. What's that in bold on the last line of the "Precautions" section?
Hi! Happy #BiVisibilityDay! Every year for the last 5 years I have said a version of the same thing. This year is no exception. Let's talk bisexuality! (short thread👇)
1) I am #bisexual. To me, this means I can be attracted to people who *are not* of my gender identity, as well as being attracted to people who *are* of my gender identity
2) it does not mean I erase non binary gender identities. The '2' implied by my use of 'bi' is 'like me' & 'not like me'
Tomorrow @julietmusical will officially open & friends, I can't lie, I've no chill at all. I've fostered shows before but this one feels like my flesh & blood. I have No Resilience offering her up to critics so just let me tell you right now that she's all five stars & then some.
You know when you meet someone in a pub and you exchange numbers thinking 'oh yes, this will be fun..' and then you accidentally fall in love and f*ck everything up, only to find they also caught feelings and its all not what you expected but so much better? Because it's that.
Because I could never have imagined I'd get paid for holding such characters and such stories up in the spotlight. (Literally! 💡👌🏻)
I often think about how my generation of women was sold the well intentioned message: 💪🏼"you *can* have it all"✌🏼... and while I obviously believe that nobody should have to choose between an education/career and love/family BECAUSE OF THEIR GENDER I worry that [... 👇🏻]
..we have taken on board this idea that women (in particular) don't have to choose AT ALL. And that we're somehow now failing, or less feminist, if we *don't* have it all. Except, and here's the rub, NO ONE can have 'it all'. There are literally only 16-18 usable hrs of the day..
Men only *appeared* to manage it thanks to the repression & labour of women. Every way you divide modern life, it fails to provide enough hours to: sustain a career trajectory, a family, a social life, and the vital personal practices of looking after a body and a mind...
Calorie counting begins at younger and younger ages, particularly in girls, and correlates far better with teenage obesity and disordered eating (one of the most fatal mental health issues) than adult good health. This is a very poor decision indeed. Please reconsider.
"you adventured really far this week!" would be a vastly better word choice. #PokemonGO#caloriecounter
*Tiny #thread on the way we speak about #suicide*
Several high profile deaths recently, so it seems a good time to ask that folk please try and say "died by suicide" rather than "committed suicide" where possible. >>
It may seem like a small, perhaps meaningless, difference but it actually makes a big, big impact on the way people process and understand these deaths. >>
"Committed suicide" is an outdated term from when suicide was a sin / religious crime. It makes it sound like an active decision, reinforces moral judgement, separates these deaths from other kinds of deaths and is no longer considered good practice. >>
