What is Cryptocurrency?

Cryptocurrency is an encrypted decentralized digital currency transferred between peers (via the internet) and confirmed in a public ledger through a technology called Blockchain

Cryptocurrency is roughly the equivalent of using PayPal or a Debit Card for transactions across the world, except the numbers on the screen represent digital currency instead of a fiat currency like a dollar.

It is not under control of any central government or institution, thereby making Cryptocurrency #Bitcoin an interesting solution to a lot of challenges with fiat currencies, such as speedy transaction, privacy, and decentralization

Because of all these, #Bitcoin has witnessed such an exponential growth that has never occurred in any industry before.
Crypto has been revered in that it appreciates in value over time. Which means you can save in crypto currencies as against putting money in the bank.

On 18 August 2008, the domain name bitcoin.org was registered. Satoshi Nakamoto anonymously founded #bitcoin in 2009, what I mean by anonymous is that, till today, nobody seem to know who Satoshi is.

#Bitcoin was designed is so amazing as in instead of printing money like central bank does, Satoshi designed a system called Mining.
Satoshi understands that there will be deflation if there is too much money in circulation, so there are only 21million bitcoin to be mined.

In November that year, a link to a paper by Satoshi Nakamoto titled #Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System was posted to a cryptography mailing list.
This paper detailed methods of using a peer-to-peer network to generate what was described as

“a system for electronic transactions without relying on trust”.

In January 2009, the #Bitcoin network came into existence with the release of d 1st open source bitcoin client & d issuance of d first bitcoins, with Satoshi
Nakamoto mining the first block of bitcoins ever

In 2009, #Bitcoin was completely worthless Between Jan 2009 & March 2010 #Bitcoin has no value but by March it grows to 0.003$ & by may 2010 its still less than $0.01 & on 22 May 2010, Laszlo Hanyecz made d 1st real-world transaction by buying two pizzas in Florida for 10,000 BTC

To cut the story of #Bitcoin short between 2010 and 2011 #Bitcoin grew from nothing to $1, and between year 2011 and Jan 2017 #Bitcoin from $1 grows to $1000.

That’s a 7 year journey from $1 to $1000, since January (2017) this year. Imagine if you invest in #Bitcoin 19years ago

January 2017 #Bitcoin grew from $1000 to $2000 in the month of May and to $5000 by September. November 2017 #Bitcoin experience unexpected growth on 25th of November 2017
bitcoin reaches $9,000 & for the first time it surpasses the $9,000 mark on 28
November 2017 to $10,000

By December 2017 it keeps growing till $12,000 to $13,000 and upto
$17,000 as at some point but in buying or investing into crypto #Bitcoin its very important to be guided because of its Volatility and one may fall into wrong hands.

WHAT #BITCOIN IS NOT:
1. #Bitcoin is not ponzi scheme
2. #Bitcoin is not get rich quick scheme Volatility may suprise you
3. #Bitcoin is not referral or MLM scheme
4. #Bitcoin should be seen as a short term investment but as an asset
5. #Bitcoin is not scam or fraud

There are different ways through which you can make money with #Bitcoin though each of the ways requires little to no training but with your ability to read & understand you will be fine.
