We all know #COVID19 has impacted spends but do you know by how much, which category & are there signs of recovery? To answer this, we looked at the spending patterns of our users, who manage ~₹10K Crore of expenses monthly & compared their March-June 2019 spends to that in 2020 
First up #shopping: After a steep fall in April by 87%, shopping expenses staged a strong recovery in June to 37% fall compared to last year👍
#Household Expenses: A big 69% fall in April and a strong recovery back to 30% in June!
#Travel: March had already seen a 60% drop, April (peak lockdown month), it fell 99% with some clawback to 95% by June. The explorer in us is just waiting for a recovery in travel. In the meantime a #throwback moment of our last offsite in Goa, we want it back!
#Entertainment: ~70% down in April with the complete lockdown of movie theatres but probably online entertainment spends grew and kept us entertained. We don't know what we would have done without @NetflixIndia @DisneyPlusHS @MXPlayer @YouTube & more 🙏
#Fixed Expenses: The only category that was seeing an increase in March and hasn't fallen much compared to other categories, as expected. Maybe the loan moratorium helped to keep it flat.
#Cash withdrawals: This is one category we are happy to see a fall by 77% in April giving impetus to digital payments. We definitely don't want to see a recovery here :)
To sum it all up: Sharp falls in spends across all categories with strong recoveries in Shopping & Household. The optimist in us believes "This Too Shall Pass" and we hope to see & share insights of a bumper recovery by #NYE 2021 🎉
