This is a thread about a disgraced Trumpian mayor who is running for re-election in California, in the city where the @Apple headquarters is located.

You may remember Steven Scharf calling to build a wall around #Cupertino and have (28% Latino) San Jose pay for it.

One of Scharf’s worst acts as Cupertino mayor has been his continued support for Planning Commissioner R Wang, who has been accused of sexual harassment, identify theft, and stalking a former Redwood City planning commissioner & city councilmember.

R Wang is accused of impersonating a former Redwood City planning commissioner & city councilmember, stealing her identity, and signing her up for pornographic websites. He did this just because he disagreed with her over a water recycling policy.

Planning Commissioners serve at the pleasure of the City Council. Steven Scharf has continued defending Wang, and he has not demanded Wang’s resignation or attempted to rescind his appointment.

Wang has been a vocal supporter of Scharf and Moore. They seem to be returning the favor by allowing him to continue to serve on the Cupertino Planning Commission despite his checkered past of alleged of harassment and illegal actions.

This isn't the only time R Wang has been accused of harassing someone.

In June 2019, the city of Cupertino received a complaint against R Wang for trying to get #housing activists fired on @nextdoorsv & #onhere, in relation to political disagreements in Cupertino.

R Wang isn’t the only dangerous ally Scharf has defended on the planning commission.

Kitty Moore is also seeking a seat in Cupertino City Council.

She is terrifying.

Kitty Moore idles on batshit.

She tried to hijack the #MeToo Movement to make a sick fear mongering argument about @Apple employees leading to more sex workers in Cupertino.

All to block new housing from being built in place of a dead shopping mall.

Cupertino City Council candidate Kitty Moore also tried to claim @Apple employees would sexually assault high school students if #affordablehousing were built on the site of the dead Vallco Mall.

She had to recuse herself from planning commission talks about the project.

Scharf’s affinity for the absolute worst people in Cupertino and his racist attempts to mimic Trump are the tip of the iceberg.

He essentially paid off the last city attorney $200,000 to cover up his own shady election #drama.

Scharf & Moore’s failed policies have led to declining enrollment & a #financialcrisis in schools. Now they want voters to pay for it! They propose a tax increase for CUSD funding, like the 28% tax on residential parcel #taxes in Berkeley.

Declining school enrollment is real, and it is a danger to the survival of our public schools while they are already under assault from Trump lackies like Betsy #DeVos. Scharf and Moore do worse than ignore the real problems; they make them worse.

This is how we know Scharf's a fear-mongering liar when he reuses racist Trump talkings point about affordable housing causing “overcrowded schools.”

Scharf & Moore would rather jack up taxes than live near hard working poor people. Cupertino City Council deserves better.
