THREAD πI am so angry and so upset. Like 131M other Americans, I am seriously ill. Forgive me if I don't feel up to coddling folks whose sense of entitlement put us here. When Democrats don't vote for Democrats they give us Republican rule, which is 98% rich white cis het guys.
These are the facts. The party that thinks corporations are people and has ONE Black member in the entire Congress just put their 204th lifetime appointment judge in office. These people will define our lives for the next 30yrs with Trump's policies. Of course I'm angry.
After McConnell completed his coup in the Senate, he adjourned the Senate till after #Election2020. No #stimulus for Americans without food, losing their homes and being evicted and with no more unemployment. Pelosi passed a bill MONTHS ago that he refused to vote on.
We don't have a parliamentary system. If we did, Hillary Clinton would be president. If we did, if Trump were president, he'd be brought up on a no confidence vote. What we can do is vote people out of office. We can show up, as folks are doing despite GOP voter suppression.
We can do what we did in 2018: elect massive numbers of women, BIPOC, progressives. We can work for justice, equality and progressive change. We have to be committed to an equal society--not one in which poor and working class people--80% of whom are women--are left with nothing.
