Community members were seeking to talk to Greene in person, who has reportedly been informed repeatedly of unhoused #constituents’ needs.

Before going to the front door, community members texted & emailed Commissioner Greene to let her know they were outside and seeking an audience.
Some said that for weeks they’ve been sending Greene their concerns & requests for assistance regarding the #homelessness epidemic.

Community organizer Sam Pree-Stinson said specifically a ‘No’ vote is sought from @MarionGreene on Hennepin County’s decision whether to spend $900,000 per unit to create 191 “affordable housing” dwelling spaces inside the old, decaying Fort Snelling army barracks.
Around 9:40 a.m. constituents rang the doorbell.
Commissioner Greene’s husband came to answer. He said Greene is in meetings all day but that she would be responding to texts sent by her #constituents.

Pree-Stinson mentioned during a live broadcast this morning that the Fort Snelling territory belongs to the Dakota people.
Upon its disuse, according to Pree-Stinson, the area “was supposed to be returned to the #Dakota so they can decide what to do with the land themselves.”
