As we await Governor Stitt, just saw this. I had missed it last week.
Before anyone asks, no.....this is not a joke.
A group wants to recall every member of the Stillwater City Council including Mayor Will Joyce because of the mask mandate.

Governor Stitt has started says our hospitalizations statewide have gone up 19% in the last week
He says his priority is to protect Oklahomans, keep businesses open safely and get kids back in school after Christmas Break.
#Covid19 #Oklahoma
Starting Thursday, bars and restaurants must close at 11pm. Drive through and carryout will still be allowed
He's also asking restaurants to space tables 6 feet apart.
He's encouraging Oklahomans to wear a mask
#COVID19 #Oklahoma
Stitt says we are just starting to see our numbers "come up" after being "flat" for 5 months.
To be transparent--here is a look at the data and we have seen cases increasing since June.
#Oklahoma #COVID19
So far no mention of a mask mandate
no changes to medical procedures in the state
no safer at home orders for vulnerable population or anyone
Gov. Stitt says they will keep following the data and do what's best for Oklahomans and "will make the right decisions at the right time."
Gov. Stitt says they are "laying down the goal now" references Tulsa Public Schools students many have not been in-person in class since March and says it breaks his heart for those kids.
As we've reported Pre-K and K started last Monday.
1st-3rd started today.
#oklaed
Reporters asking Governor Stitt why they didn't do a reduction of capacity in restaurants, as many states seeing spikes have done. Stitt says that wasn't what they thought was best, he doesn't believe there will be any problem with just asking restaurants to space tables 6ft.
Governor Stitt says they aren't worried about enforcing the 6ft. separation of tables in restaurants because he knows everyone will do the right thing and do what they should.
He says they CAN pull licenses if necessary, but he doesn't think it will be a problem.
#Oklahoma
Governor Stitt says they went to Google to help advise them on what restrictions and reductions should be put in place.
What they've announced today with bars and restaurants closing at 11pm and asking restaurants to space tables 6 feet apart is what Google told them is best.
Health Commissioner Dr. Lance Frye asked by a reporter if he believes we need a statewide mask mandate says he doesn't make that decision and that he does believe we need one. Then, he quickly says what he means is that everyone should wear a mask.

FOX23's @RickonFox23 asks Governor Stitt about how he will proceed with transition in power of presidency.
He says he will work with the Trump administration and Pence's #COVID19 Task Force until Jan. 20th, then work with President-elect Biden's team.
#Oklahoma #coronavirus
A reporter asks Governor Stitt if he will get a #coronavirus vaccine once Oklahoma receives them. Stitt says he's already had #COVID19 and has antibodies, he wants to prioritize healthcare workers and people in long term care facilities to get the vaccine first.
One other thing Governor Stitt announced...
employees in all state buildings will now be required to wear masks inside the buildings. Before now, they were NOT required and optional.

I've emailed Gov. Stitt's team and the State Health Department to clarify and get information about the reference to 2,000 samples Gov. Stitt mentioned when talking about the vaccine. Not exactly what it was referencing. Also, have asked for data/the survey that Stitt (MORE)
mentioned when he said some surveys show 99% of parents want their kids back in school in-person right now.
As we've reported, MANY school districts have made changes to distance learning in the past few days as we've seen cases spike
