Supreme Leader @khamenei_ir &his patronage network, Minister of Intelligence & his notorious ministry (MOIS) have been engaged in killing, massacre of Iranians & #terrorism abroad. Such designation & more are warranted, as Iranian people have been chanting “Death to Khamenei.”
Intel Minister Mahmoud Alavi designated today under E.O. 13553, for "serious human rights abuses" against the Iranian people, also collaborated with Foreign Minister @JZarif in a series of terror plots in Europe since 2018. Both deserve additional #terrorism designation as SDGT. Image
Treasury stated Alavi's "MOIS agents are responsible for beatings, sexual abuse, prolonged interrogations&coerced confessions of prisoners, particularly political prisoners." Recent example is wrestling champ #navidafkari murdered after torture for participating in #IranProtests. Image
The @StateDept also sanctioned IRGC Brig Gen Heidar Abbaszadeh & IRGC Col Reza Papi for gross violations of human rights, as both were involved in the killing of nearly 150 individuals in the city of Mahshahr during Nov 2019 uprising where 1,500 were murdered. #WeStand4FreeIran. Image
A key patronage network for @khamenei_ir, the Mostazafan Foundation, "an immense conglomerate of some 160 holdings in key sectors of Iran’s economy, including finance,energy,construction&mining" was also designated by @USTreasury. @NCRIUS book had detailed the web of this entity. Image

"Bonyad Mostazafan maintains close ties to the IRGC, personified by current Foundation president and former IRGC officer Parviz Fattah," according to @USTreasury. Fattah, a close ally of Qassem Soleimani provided finance to terrorist-designated Qods Force to fund its proxies. Image

Mostazafan Foundation produced 28% of textiles, 22% of cement, 45% of non-alcoholic beverages, 28% of tires & 25% of sugar produced in Iran. In 2016 it landed a 4 billion dollar government project. Yet, Mostazafan pays no taxes and funnels money to terror proxies in the region. Image
Here are some of the holding companies of the Mostazafan Foundation touching nearly every sector of the Iranian economy, including agriculture, food, dairy, meat, development, energy, mining, communications and technology, finance and banking, tourism & recreation, to name a few. Image
One financial institution controlled by Mostazafan Foundation is SINA Bank, designated as #terrorist (SDGT) with at least 270 branches across Iran. This bank was a key target of the population during the Nov 2019 uprising as the people considered it as plunderer of their wealth. Image
Another entity Behran Oil "exports fuel to the Assad regime in Syria, designated today pursuant to E.O. 13876 for being owned or controlled by, directly or indirectly, Bonyad Mostazafan." Image

Indeed long overdue. No "Ambassador" title should cover the nature of a terror master. Iraj Masjedi is one of the most veteran commanders of the IRGC and one of the first commanding organizers of its Qods Force, which was formed in early 1990s to do nothing but #terrorism. 1/
Prior to 2003, Masjedi was the commander of Ramazan Garrison in Western Iran, which was the base of the regime forces and groups who pursued terrorist operations in Iraq. Hadi Ameri (then commander of the Badr Corp) and Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes, were under his command. 2/
After 2003, Hashd Al-Shaabi (militia) was fully under the command of Iraj Masjedi as he worked closely with Mohandes who was running day-to-day operations of the Shiite militias in Iraq, before he was eliminated along with Qassem Soleimani in Jan. 2020 by the United States. 3/

Indeed, in summer 1988, as many as 30,000 political prisoners-none sentenced to death-were murdered, ordered by "Supreme Leader" Khomeini, in a matter of weeks. Key perpetrators, unpunished, are now Judiciary Chief & Justice Minister. Pursue justice for #1988Massacre victims.
As documented in "Iran: Where Mass Murderers Rule," by @ncrius, Khomeini issue a fatwa (decree) that any political prisoner who refused to denounce the main opposition movement, the MEK, should be killed; that was the key question each political prisoner in Iran was asked.
"If the person at any stage or at any time maintains support for the Hypocrites [the MEK], the sentence is execution. Annihilate the enemies of Islam immediately,” Khomeini responds to then Chief Justice inquiry about his fatwa, clearing all doubts for the massacre.

Again the Iranian regime is designated "the world’s worst state sponsor of terrorism" for being, "directly involved in plotting terrorism through its IRGC & Ministry of Intelligence and Security including plots in recent years in North & South America, Europe, ME, Asia & Africa."
"In another historic action, the U.S. Department of State designated #Iran’s IRGC as an FTO in April 2019. This unprecedented step reflected the Iranian regime’s unique place among the governments of the world in its use of #terrorism as a central tool of its statecraft."
"Several European countries took concrete steps to combat Iranian regime-backed #terrorism in 2019. Albania, Denmark, and France all reduced diplomatic relations in response to Iran-backed plots to conduct assassinations or bombings in those countries."

The U.N. Security Council must extend the arms embargo against Iran. If it won’t, the U.S. is prepared to ‘snap back’ sanctions, writes Brian H. Hook, U.S. special representative for Iran wsj.com/articles/were-… #JCPOA
In fact snap back is the only way to curb the Iranian regime's threat which would surely increase due to the sunset clauses leading to various sanctions reliefs as a result of the JCPOA agreement.
The world shouldn't be in a worse situation every few years, even with the October arms embargo extension. The bitter reality is that the ballistic missile sanctions are due to expire in 2023, limits to R&D of enrichment technology will be lifted next.

This bi-partisan letter to Secretary Pompeo by a large House majority is a clear indication that the threat of the Iranian regime is real, ongoing & not a partisan issue. It highlights major flaws in the JCPOA which has now allowed the expiration of the arms embargo in Oct. 1/5
The experience of the past four decades shows that the Iranian regime maintains power thru shear repression at home and export of terrorism and destabilizing activities abroad including its nuclear and missile programs. 2/5
The Iranian people have reached the conclusion that so long as this regime is in power, corruption and repression persist in the country and Tehran will continue to spend billions on waging violence in the region. 3/5
