Some sample ad ideas, but consult with pros: show festive Christmas dinner with CGI Airborne virus, then some family members turning to skeletons or show their empty seats Christmas 2021. Cut to plea of real #COVID survivor w/oxygen tubes saying not hoax, or grieving loved ones.
@CarnegieEndow @FordFoundation @gatesfoundation etc. could help pull logistics together, or get @AdCouncil advice on what's needed. Pay more than @adcouncil typical rates to get prime time TV hours, top @YouTube and @Facebook display. Avoid partisanship or #Trump-bashing.
There is now NO high-profile, far-reaching, emotionally powerful centralized , effective safety messaging to overcome firehose of #COVID misinformation/disinformation and/or federal inaction. Can't wait for Biden administration. Upshot: hundreds of thousands more people will die.
The creatives, agencies behind the anti-#smoking, #BigTobacco settlement ads might have some pointers. What worked? They used dying celebs; oldsters w/ electronic voiceboxes held against cancer-destroyed layrynx; disgusted teens fleeing heavy teen smokers, etc. Adapt for #COVID?
