@SalikaDavis@MarkGBblog Hancock: "At 6.31 this morning, 90 year-old Margaret Keenan ... became the first person in the world to receive a clinically authorised vaccine for covid-19... Today marks the start of the fight back against our common enemy, coronavirus."

@SalikaDavis@MarkGBblog Ashworth (Labour). "What are the plans to tackle anti-vax harm online? I have ... been sent a WhatsApp video claiming that this is all a global plot to change our DNA. We know that harmful content circulates on Facebook and other platforms. This is garbage..."

@SalikaDavis@MarkGBblog Martyn Day (SNP): "... a safe and effective vaccination programme is extremely welcome, but recent studies have shown that as little as 54% of the UK population are certain to have the vaccination. There is a clear need to counter misinformation,...

@SalikaDavis@MarkGBblog "... whether online scare stories or jingoistic nonsense, so what extra steps will the Minister take to ensure public trust in the vaccine’s safety and effectiveness and to encourage take-up?"

@SalikaDavis@MarkGBblog Dr Rupa Huq (Lab): "This brilliant news contrasts with the rather alarming revelations ... that we may be veering towards a no-deal Brexit. If that does occur, could the Secretary of State guarantee that there will be no disruption to the supply chains for ... vaccines".

@lyne_ian Thread.
The author of this peer-reviewed work is Prof John Ioannidis of Stanford University. On 17 March 2020 Ioannidis called the global response to the COVID-19 pandemic a "once-in-a-century evidence fiasco". en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Ioan…
1/n
@lyne_ian Also in March 2020 Prof Ioannidis and colleagues tried to organize a meeting at the White House where they would caution President Donald Trump against "shutting down the country for [a] very long time and jeopardizing so many lives in doing this." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Ioan…

@lyne_ian Steve Hilton @SteveHiltonx@NextRevFNC was chief strategist to PM David Cameron 2010-2012.
He worked at Stanford University and here tells how Ioannidis and colleagues were suspended for 6 months in an attempt to silence them.
@rowandean et al who have always asserted that #lockdown has NOTHING TO DO WITH #COVID19 VIRUS have been dismissed as "conspiracy theorists", their views labelled "misinformation".
Real purpose of this totalitarianism is to "fight the climate emergency".
Hancock was a protégé of George Osborne for whom he worked 2005-2010. Elected an MP in 2010 he had several junior (Minister of State) posts in the Cameron govt. And of course was a Remainer.
@BillKronoss@CatrionaColllns@FatEmperor The same month, Jan 2018, Hancock gave his speech in Davos ‘Reimagining policy making for the fourth industrial revolution’.
@michael53021960 It is wrong to lump all "anti-vaxxers" together as weidos and "conspiracy theorists". There have been scientifically based criticisms of vaccination ever since the UK Compulsory Vaccination Act of 1853. theothersideofvaccines.com/2019/05/a-brie…

@michael53021960 The case of Dr Andrew Wakefield is "the episode which defines the stupidity of the ‘anti-vaxxers.’" But a detailed look at this case suggests that Wakefield’s "professional assassination" should encourage us to be more sceptical about vaccines. 2/n
@michael53021960 Surely we need to ask why in 2017 the proposed screening of Dr Wakefield's film "Vaxxed" by the European Forum for Vaccine Vigilance (EFVV) was ***not allowed*** in London, Brussels, or Paris? change.org/p/european-par…

Sky News Australia host Rowan Dean delivers what I hope will persuade the few UK journalists who have dared to criticise #lockdown but still reject "Conspiracy theories" that this IS in fact a worldwide capitalist conspiracy.
@HardLineDemocat@thaumag This reminds me of what, for me, has been the festering sore of the 22 May #Newsnight interview with former Chief Rabbi "Lord" Jonathan Sacks by Emily Maitlis:

@HardLineDemocat@thaumag One of the YouTube comments is that this lauding of democracy comes from the lips of an unelected member of the House of Lords🤣🤣
