With the eviction blockade on Mississippi Ave seemingly being a success, opening opportunities for the family to stay in the home, I’m gonna do a thread about what I saw at Red House and how it got us to where we are now.
The barricades were among the most sophisticated seen in Portland throughout the past few months. Lots of back bracing and different materials and layers.
In addition to the barricades there were plenty of contraptions meant to stop vehicles and charging people.
Garden hoses were cut up and used as impromptu caltrops, with screws and nails sticking out.
Whereas eventually welded caltrops made their way to the Red House eviction blockade.
Some before and after shots of the streets and barricades. Despite some small graffiti you wouldn’t have know the space was occupied for a week.
Behind the barricades people gathered materials to use as suppressive fire in case armored police tried to charge the barricades. I saw no molotov cocktails the six days I was there.
The Porta potty that was used for the first few days read “Wheelers Officer” and “New PPA.”
Plenty of shields were present and in the downtime people practiced shield training.
A sticker on Mississippi Avenue, across the street from the south barricade.
All of the neighbors I talked to near the barricades were supportive of the Kinney family and the Red House eviction blockade, despite the impediments to traffic. People helping with the blockade organized to get neighbors vehicles on the other side of the barricades.
This past Sunday, with the city and police aggreing to not evict the family as there are ongoing negotiations over the property, the street barricades around the Red House were dismantled by people within the blockade.
Some more before and after photos.
Various other random photos.
And that’s my thread on Red House. There are lots of elements I haven’t touched on (mutual aid and the issues with armed security) but hopefully I’ll discuss those in the near future.

As the crowd arrives at the ICE building, the Federal Protective Service issues a warning the facility is closed and not to “trespass on federal property,” including press, and is threatening arrest. #PortlandProtests#portland#AbolishICE#ICE#BlackLivesMatter
Officer Lehman had Rapid Response Team (RRT) training in March 2019 and a "RRT Long Baton/PR24 Refresher" in September 2019. Since June his chest number (not badge number) has been 1004013.
In this video from from August, we see an officer assault a protester against a telephone pole, and then assault a journalist.
The journalist IDed his chest number as 1004013, matching up with who I believe is Craig Lehman.
Portland Police on the LRAD making announcements already. Saying the street is open to traffic, and not to vandalize buildings. Protesters have been letting cars pass through. #PortlandProtests#Portland#BlackLivesMatter#PortlandPolice
No, this man arrested today in relation to the Michigan Governor kidnappings plot is not a Far Left Anarchist.
He is a Far Fight Libertarian, with connections to the boogaloo boy "movement." The Daily Dot has some very solid reporting on this. dailydot.com/debug/brandon-…
According to old facebook posts from Brandon, he's a Covid denier, anti masker, and supporter of Kenosha killer Kyle Rittenhouse.
The Daily Dot notes his interest in a boogaloo boy YouTube page and shows his anti government sentiments.
