🎶🎄🎅
Twas the night before Christmas
When all through the White House
All the grifters were stirring
expecting pardons from the louse.
Covid relief
Hung in the balance without care
With hopes of $2000 checks
vanishing into thin air.

1/14
🎶🎄🎅
Children nestled everywhere
Still some with beds
While the realities of eviction
Danced in parents' heads.
Melania in her kerchief
And Trump in a stupid red cap
Still planning to override
The 2020 electoral map.

2/14
🎶🎄🎅
When out on their roof
There arose such a clatter.
They sprang from their separate beds
To see what was the matter.
Away to the window
Away from their bedding
To see *dozens* of maskless MAGAs
Joyfully super-spreading.

3/14
🎶🎄🎅
The reality setting in
Of this country's new fallen low.
The end of a dark time
With only weeks to go.
When, what
To my wondering eyes should appear
But the SDNY with charges
And a NY AG with no fear.

4/14
🎶🎄🎅
With Republicans scurrying
And lying to protect their ass
They didn't understand
The frustrations of the working-class.
No stimulus
And a planet left burning.
It was healthcare, jobs
And equality we were yearning.

5/14
🎶🎄🎅
Now, #MedicareForAll
a #JobsGuarantee
A #GreenNewDeal
progressives shouted with glee.
We fight for what's needed
like equal taxation on the rich
But first we need to oust
Trump enablers and Mitch!

6/14
🎶🎄🎅
As the Georgia run-off looms near
Activists chart the course
With @staceyabrams & @nseufot
Bringing the organizing force
They knocked doors and made calls
As voter registration grew
With a sleigh full of new hope
And a Senate Majority too!

7/14
🎶🎄🎅
And then cancelling college debt
I heard through the wire
Biden said no
And made Schumer a liar.
As I threw up my hands
And turned around
Into the spotlight
Biden came with a bound

8/14
🎶🎄🎅
He was dressed to the nines
From his head to his foot
No oversized ties
Or a wig that wouldn't stay put.
A bundle of promises
He had flung on his back
But so far his cabinet picks
Are mostly political hacks.

9/14
🎶🎄🎅
His eyes, how they twinkled!
His dimples, how merry!
His cheeks weren't orange,
his head wasn't airy!
His empathetic smile
Was drawn up like a bow
And the hair on his head
Was as white as the snow

10/14
🎶🎄🎅
Accompanied by Dr. Biden
with her many degrees
Who is brilliant, relatable
And puts you at ease.
They check all the boxes
And they are ready to go.
Can they lead our nation forward
Or will it be status quo?

11/14
🎶🎄🎅
But with Trump leaving office,
It's like a magical dream
Restoring hope in our future
Making way for new memes
We can't just go back to normal
— 2020 was the worst
We're counting on Democrats to step up
And put people first.

12/14
🎶🎄🎅
Healthcare, economic justice
And saving the planet get people excited
Expanding the court, immigrant rights
And overturning Citizens United.
While center-Dems say,
"We may get some of it."
The grassroots and the people say,
"FAAFO, we are coming for ALL of it."

13/14
🎶🎄🎅
We sprung to action
Making democracy our sport.
We've learned, we've grown
And now we have support.
We're ready for next year
Set to mobilize and multitask
Happy Christmas to all
And please #WearAMask

❓Why do Democrats primary Democrats❓

Short answer:
Because not every Democrat fights for Democratic values.

Long answer:
<thread>⬇️
The battle for the soul of the Democratic party happens in primaries. It comes down to which candidates put #PeopleOverProfits and which do not.

#DownBallotProgressives 🚫corporate💵 and fight for people.

Centrist Dems vote to protect the profits of their corporate donors.

2/
My opponent, @RepTomSuozzi is vice-chair of the Problem Solvers Caucus, a group of Centrist Democrats & Republicans, funded by GOP billionaires and dark money groups like No Labels, that tout working across the aisle as a way to solve problems.

Let's talk #MedicareForAll •vs• Public Option

#M4A:
✅ Covers everyone, no exceptions
✅ Includes vision, dental, hearing aids, mental illness & long-term care
✅ $0 premiums, deductibles and co-pays
✅ You see the doctors and hospitals you choose to see

1
<thread>
Public Option = our current system + option to buy into a Medicare-like plan

The Medicare option would mimic traditional Medicare w/ premiums, deductibles & coinsurance. This is an improvement over our current system, but doesn't come close to the care you'd receive w/ #M4A

2
The Public Option doesn’t reduce costs because it doesn't create enough leveraging power or eliminate the administration overhead to drive down prices—it only gives you access to buy a plan.

If healthcare isn't financially accessible, then it's not accessible.

We assume NY is progressive because it's Blue, but we're represented by Reps that oppose progressive policies that are overwhelmingly supported. ( @DataProgress )

🌎 #GreenNewDeal 64%-20%
🏥 #MedicareForAll 59%-24%
🏠 #HomesGuarantee 62%-21%

With the exception of @AOC, NY Reps survive by their corporate donors pumping $millions into their campaigns to push policies benefiting the super-rich at the expense of hard working NYers.

💰That's why 70% of NYers support corruption reforms.

We need to break the false narratives from corporate-funded think tanks & politicians that the solutions we need are "impractical," when they are absolutely feasible, necessary & popular. They are prioritizing donations over the wellbeing of people.

Lost in this disturbing video is the troubling answer Rep. Tom Suozzi gave around receiving donations from the same corporations he regulates through his seat on the House Ways & Means committee.

🥊Spoiler Alert: The only person he fights for is himself.

[thread]
1
In the last two election cycles, Suozzi has taken over $1 million from corporate PACs and Super PACs funded by corporate PACs. That's public record.

He happily admitted in the video to accepting corporate donations.

Why?

2

Tom: "So I can win campaigns against the people you're supporting"

Tom doesn't take corporate 💵 to beat Republicans, but to beat progressives fighting against corporate influence.

Corporate-funded Dems like Suozzi know they can't beat progressives without a rigged system.

This hypocrisy is egregious. The End Citizens United Action Fund is a DCCC fundraising PAC. Endorsing corporate-financed Reps makes a mockery of the real work that @WolfPAChq and @MoveToAmend actually do to end the corporate corruption that’s broken our government.

[Thread]

I’m not sure how a politician who’s taken over a million dollars from corporate and Super PACs in just the last 2 election cycles is graded an A, when that grade and the premise of the organization is based on rejecting corporate money.

2
opensecrets.org/members-of-con…
It’s not just that Tom funds his campaign with corporate money, it’s that his policies and votes repeatedly benefit his corporate donors, who in turn, give him more money.
